Just received an email from CQ magazine regarding delivery issues.

The January edition should be out soon. Looking forward to the February QRP special.
CQ is one magazine that I read cover to cover.
Saw two robins in my yard today.
Looking forward to spring after this long cold winter.

Free Downloads
As of yesterday I still have not received my Dec. 2013 CQ magazine. I went to Face book to see if anyone else was looking for delivery on it seems like their was a delay in getting the December edition out.
With all the increases in postage and other costs it must be a challenge to put out a print magazine and at the end of the day make a profit. It seems like most magazines will be digital soon. I
prefer reading a paper magazine you can hold in your hands instead of off a screen. My e reader is still my computer now but might have to break down and pick up a cheap reader in the near future.

Monitoring Times....
The staff at Monitoring Times says in will continue with an online magazine called The Spectrum Monitor in PDF format starting in January 2014.

I still prefer a paper type magazine instead of an electronic version, but the costs to put out a magazine in the long run probably is to expensive these days.

Monitoring Times
Just saw on the Monitoring Times homepage that the December 2013 issue will be the last.

After 33 years Bob Grove will be retiring this fine magazine. I was a subscriber many years ago and still pick up a copy on the newsstand every so often. This was one of my favorites reads to bring on the beach during vacation. The July edition features The Heathkit Legacy.
I hate to see radio/electronic magazines going away.
In this day and age they may never be replaced.

Old Mags
In the basement I keep a box or two of my old CQ, QST, and World Radio magazines. This weekend during the night time TV hours I went through a small stack of World Radios, neat to get some new ideas and read a few articles.
Came across a cool loop antenna using zip cord, going to do some more research on this one but might be on the future build list.
On the tube they are promoting the new shows for the fall season, Hawaii Five-O, Law & Order LA. When I was a kid in the summer I use to hate that because it meant school was right around the corner.
