Interesting and informative article about the history of AM radio in Pittsburgh, PA, and this seems to apply to just about everywhere else in the country.

I still listen to the local news stations in New York on AM. Plus AM is still a free source to listen to your favorite sports teams home games. The public NPR radio stations is a reliable place for news plus they are commercial free.
Still as the article points out the competition must be tough for the stations to attract listeners and keep them with all the entertainment outlets available.
Wonder what will become of AM radio in the future?
